Children's Dentist Augustine Heights

Where Little Smiles Feel Right at Home.

Gentle, family-friendly dental care for toddlers, tweens and teens, helping children feel comfortable at the dentist while parents breathe a little easier.

Helping Kids Feel Good About their Dental Visit.

Every parent wants their child to grow up with a healthy smile and positive memories of visiting the dentist. But for many children, a new place, unfamiliar faces or worries about what might happen can make dental visits feel overwhelming.

At Smyl Dental, we explain dentistry in a way children understand, answer their questions with patience and encouragement, and help every visit feel a little less daunting. From TVs and music to friendly faces, simple explanations and a sticker at the end, we’ve thought about the little things that help children settle in while parents feel more at ease.

Whether it’s their first check-up or they’re coming back for regular care, our goal is simple: help children enjoy positive dental experiences that support healthy smiles for life.

Everything Their Growing Smile Needs.

From baby teeth to teenage years, every stage of childhood brings new milestones and new dental needs. Whether it’s helping prevent problems before they start or treating an unexpected toothache, we’re here to support your child’s smile at every stage.

Regular Check-ups & Cleans

Routine dental visits help keep little smiles healthy while allowing us to monitor how your child’s teeth, jaws and bite are developing. We can also offer personalised advice on brushing, flossing and healthy eating habits that support good oral health at home.

Preventive Care

Prevention is always our priority. We offer fluoride treatments, fissure sealants and custom sports mouthguards to help protect growing teeth from decay and sporting injuries and avoid bigger problems.

Restorative Care

Sometimes little teeth need a little extra care. Whether your child has a cavity, chipped tooth or a tooth that needs additional protection, we provide gentle restorative treatment, including tooth-coloured fillings and stainless steel crowns where appropriate.

Dental Emergencies

Accidents happen. From knocked-out teeth and sporting injuries to sudden toothaches and swelling, we’ll do our best to manage your child’s dental emergency as soon as possible and get them smiling again.

Dentistry That Fits Around Family Life. And Feels Easy.

Easy First Visits

We keep appointments relaxed, explain everything in child-friendly language and help make first dental visits ‘child’s play’ for kids and parents alike.

What to Expect at Your Child's Visit.

Maybe it’s their first visit…or their fifteenth. Either way, we’ll take things at their pace. There’s no rushing and no confusing dental jargon. Just friendly conversations, delicate care and plenty of encouragement as we go.

We'll start by saying hello and helping your child feel comfortable in their new surroundings. If it's their first visit, there's time to look around, settle in and get familiar with the dental chair before we begin.

We'll count their teeth, check how everything is growing and developing, and, where appropriate, give their teeth a soft clean. We'll explain each step in simple, child-friendly language, so there are no surprises.

Whether you're wondering about dummy use, brushing struggles, thumb sucking or what's normal as adult teeth start coming through, we're here to help. We'll share practical advice you can use at home to keep little smiles healthy between visits.

By the end of the appointment, our hope is that your child leaves feeling proud of themselves and happy to come back next time. Because when children enjoy visiting the dentist, caring for their smile becomes that little bit easier.

Eligible for CDBS?

We'll Help You Make the Most of It.

If your child is eligible for the Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS), most routine dental treatment can be bulk billed, meaning there’s no out-of-pocket cost for covered services.

CDBS is a government program that provides access to up to $1,158 in benefits over two calendar years for basic dental services such as examinations, cleaning, fissure sealing, root canal treatment, dental filling and extractions. Your child may be eligible if they’re aged 0–17 for at least one day of the calendar year of your visit, and you receive Family Tax Benefit Part A or relevant Australian government payments.

Not sure if your child qualifies for CBDS? Just ask our friendly team. We’ll happily check your eligibility before your appointment.

Payments Made Easier.

We believe quality dental care should be within reach for every family. That’s why we offer a range of payment options to help make your child’s treatment easier to manage.
